2nd Emergency Report of Typhoon Dujuan

1. Typhoon state (Data source: Central Weather Bureau)
The sea warnings of medium-strength typhoon Dujuan were in effected on Sept. 27th, 2015 8:30,
and land warnings on 17:30. Today (28th) at 10:00, the typhoon Dujuan still maintains its strong typhoon
level. Currently the eye of the storm in were at 23.5 Lat (N), 123.6 Lon (E), the 210 kilometers
east-south-east of Hualien; the radius with 7 wind level was 220 km and one with 10 wind level was 80
km, moving at 18 to 21 kilometers per hour and is now heading to west-north-west.The maximum
sustained wind near the center was 51 meter per sec. (approx. 184km/h.), which equaled to level 16 wind.
The transient wind was 63 meter per sec. (approx. 227 km/h.), which equaled to level 17 wind. The
estimation position tomorrow (29th) 8:00 is at 25.0 Lat (N), 119.7 Lon (E), the 140 kilometers south of
Hualien.
The latest data indicated that the typhoon is currently located in east-south-east of Hualien, heading
to the west-north-west. The radius is approaching to the seas of east Taiwan and threaten the Taiwan
places, and Penghu,Matsu.
Land warning areas: Areas in Taiwan (includeLanyu, Green Island), Penghu, and Matsu should take
extra caution and prevent for strong winds and heavy rains. Sea warning areas: Fishing boats at seas of
Taiwan, Bashi Channel should be alert.
For the effect of circulating currents in the typhoon's periphery, coast areas (include Lanyu and
Green Island) will experience strong winds and the possibility of long wave occurrence. The activities on
or nearby the sea should be avoided. Considering of the coinciding events of typhoon and super spring
tide, coasts and low-lying areas should prevent for the flood and seawater encroachment.
The wind and rain will gradually increase in all areas. The hanging objects, signs, outdoor fence and
scaffolding should be strengthened, and the objects on the balcony should be arranged appropriately, and
the drainage ditch should be cleaned up. More attention should be focused on landslide, rockfall and
debris flow, and precautions against flooding low-lying areas. Activities to mountain and rivers should
be avoided.
Special report for heavy rain: There is possibility of super torrential rainfall in areas of Yilan County,
New Taipei City, Keelung City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Nantou County, and Taichung City;
There is possibility of heavy rainfall in areas of Yilan County, New Taipei City, Taipei City, Taoyuan
City, Miaoli County and Hualien County, Chiayi County, Tainan, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County,
There is possibility of heavy rainfall in areas of Keelung City, Taichung City, Yunlin County, Chiayi
Coungy, Tainan City, Kaohsiung, Pingtung County, Hualien County and Taitung County; There is district
heavy rain in other areas of Taiwan, Penghu, Lianjiang County, Special attention, please.

28th.

1. High-speed Rail: before (28th )15:00, the trains will pull out according to the
timetable, after 15:00, all lines will suspend the operation service.
