Auditions for Aesop's (Oh So Lightly) Updated Fables will be held Monday, August 24, from 2:15 – 4:00
pm in the gym. It promises to be great fun. A signup sheet will be posted on the drama room door.
There is a $25 participation fee which will go towards covering the cost of scripts, props, and set
decorations.
Students should memorize a monologue of no more than one minute. Any student not prepared to
perform their monologue on August 24 will not be cast in the production. Please feel free to contact
me at gianna@jbma.education if you have any questions concerning this. I may also ask the kids to
move with each other on stage to see some of the dynamics between them at this time.
There will be up to four rehearsals each week beginning Monday, September 14 and ending with the
performance on Friday, October 23 at 7:00 pm. I will assign off days after I receive all conflicts.
Please let me know of any conflicts your child may have before they audition. I cannot finalize
casting without knowing everyone’s schedules. I will do my best to adjust the rehearsal schedule to
accommodate as many pre-approved conflicts as possible, but I reserve the right to replace any child
missing more than three rehearsals without prior permission. Please inform me ahead of time if
something comes up that will necessitate your child having to miss a rehearsal during the rehearsal
process so I can make adjustments before that day’s rehearsal starts. Attendance at all rehearsals
during the final week of October 19 - 23 will be mandatory, as this is when we will be adding
costumes, microphones, and set changes; a single absent actor or crew member will put the entire
production behind.
I will need lots of parents to help behind the scenes for this show. I will need parents to be available
to help with rehearsals and/or performances, and I will contact you about that after the show is cast.
Each child will also be responsible for finding his or her own costume. I will give out guidelines and
ideas on where to look for costumes after casting is complete.

information below, and return to Ms. Gianna with the $25 participation fee by Friday, August 21. I
