At this audition your child will read a scene and be taught a short combination of dance steps. Actors in grades 8‐12 will be taught a section of the song “Day by Day” and asked to sing individually. (Seventh‐
graders may take part in the vocal audition if they wish.) Your child may be asked to return for a callback at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, January 17. We will notify everyone by sending out cast lists via email and posting hard copies by the front door of the theatre by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20. Please either reply to the email or initial by your child’s name on the posted list as soon as possible if you accept the role. If you do not reply or initial in acceptance, the role will be offered to someone else. A read‐through and fee collection for It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21. A read‐through and fee collection for Godspell Jr. will begin at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22. This is a very short rehearsal period to prepare two shows, and we will make every effort to schedule around the conflicts you list on the conflict calendar. However, no actor is allowed to miss a rehearsal or performance from April 4‐13. Rehearsals will generally be Monday‐Thursday early evenings, Friday afternoons/evenings, Saturday mornings/afternoons, and Sunday afternoons. (No single actor will be rehearsing on all of those days.) It is very important to drop off and pick up on time as we sometimes have Mainstage rehearsals immediately following. Please be advised that some rehearsals will take place at the studios of the Broadway Bound Musical Theatre Company, 1315‐C Gadsden Street. Unauthorized absences (meaning ones not on the audition form or pre‐approved) will not be tolerated. If your child is sick, please call or email Jimmy Mount (“director’s assistant”) at 803‐760‐0513 or janddmount@aol.com. Scheduling around conflicts is a daunting task, so it is extremely important that your child be at all rehearsals to which he/she is called! It is of utmost importance that actors bring their scripts to every rehearsal. We cannot rehearse the lines/songs if we don’t know what they are. Please refrain from bringing food into the theatre. Bottled water is fine. All actors are required to supply an appropriate under‐costume. For girls that means either a leotard, tank or camisole and shorts. Boys should wear shorts and a solid color T‐shirt. This allows the actors to put on their costumes without having to totally undress and also protects the costumes. Generally (unless we tell you otherwise,) everyone will need dark, (black, brown or tan) dress shoes. We will advise accordingly about specialty dance shoes, tights, etc., as time approaches. Call (arrival) time for performances will be one hour prior to show time. Performances of It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown and Godspell Jr. will be scheduled on: Thursday, April 10; Friday, April 11; Saturday, April 12; and Sunday, April 13. Performance times for each show will be announced in the near future. Videos and Show T‐Shirts will be available for purchase. You will have the opportunity to earn a free ticket to a performance by volunteering to work backstage, ushering, or selling concessions during a show. There will be a one‐time $50 ($100 max per family if you have multiple children in the show) participation fee payable by check or cash at the first rehearsal.
