Role Purpose
To work within the Waste Treatment Division (WTD) to inspect and tests wastes
received, to undertake waste processing including preparing for transport to
others, to monitor waste processing by others and to maintain records. In
addition will assist customers at their premises in identifying, labeling and listing

wastes for collection and may undertake that collection activity for small
quantities of waste.
Key Responsibilities

To inspect and analyses wastes as received for processing

To oversee waste processing and undertake analyses as necessary and
maintain records

To undertake waste processing operations

To load and unload vehicles

To provide support to WTD clients/ customers by listing, segregating and
labeling packaged chemical waste on their premises as required

To provide the necessary information so that chemical waste can be safely
transported within current legislation

To ensure all necessary labels and transport documentation, including lists
where appropriate, are accurate, available and conform to current
legislation

To safely transport packaged chemical waste as required to permitted
waste disposal sites as instructed by the Commercial Team

To assist WTD drivers as necessary with labeling or segregation of their
loads

To assist the Sales Team as required by sampling loads.

To ensure that all activities are carried out in a professional manner which
promotes a positive image of the company and is in line with company
procedures and policies
Qualifications and Experience (preferred)

Preferably a degree in chemistry but minimum HND Chemistry, or related
subject

Must have full, driving licence

ADR Training and experience of segregating and transporting chemicals is
an advantage

Confident with using MS Office suite
Personal Qualities

Be able to work both as part of a small team under supervision and work
alone, including self managing the workload

Be customer focussed and able to communicate or liaise confidently with
people at all levels

Have flexible attitude to work and available to work overtime at short
notice

Be able to problem-solve using own initiative

Location – Based at Blackburn Meadows, Sheffield but with occasional work
offsite nationally
