Course Description: Students will grasp the basic understanding of today’s computers
and how to use them in a workplace setting. Students will sharpen their keyboarding
skills using both the alphabetic and numeric keyboard. In this class we cover Microsoft
Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and learn these programs using business
scenarios. In this class, you will learn basic and intermediate concepts of all Microsoft
Office programs and other essential software processes that will be used throughout high
school, college, and in whatever career path you follow.
Supplies:
 3 Ring Binder: Each student is required to have a 3 ring binder with dividers. The
dividers should be labeled: WORD, EXCEL, and MISC. This is where all your
assignments will be kept. There will be random binder checks to see if the student
is keeping updated on his or her binder.
 Mr. Pavicic’s Website: Students should be checking my website on a regular
basis for new updates, assignments, and grade status.
http://AnthonyPavicic.Weebly.com
 Assignments: All assignments are due on the due date, NO LATE WORK WILL
BE ACCEPTED
 Flash drive/jump drive: Students will have the opportunity to take class work
home if they do not finish. Students can save work to a flash drive or they can
simply e-mail the assignment to themselves in order to access it at home.
Homework Policy: All homework will be submitted on the due date assigned by the
instructor. If you are absent you are responsible for turning in your previously
assigned work the day you return. As stated above, NO LATE WORK WILL BE
ACCEPTED. You are responsible for all work you miss when you’re out.
Grading: This course will be based on total points accumulated for all assignments,
binder checks, quizzes and tests during the semester. Warren Consolidated Schools
grading scale will be used to formulate the student’s final grade (75% Assessments and
25% Homework). Extra credit is possible but there is no guarantee.

Classroom Rules: No student will enter my classroom if they do not give the teacher and
their fellow students respect. Remember, you have to give respect to get it. I will respect
each student and I expect the same in return. Please take of personal business (i.e.
bathroom) between classes or on your own time.
Educational Philosophy and Course Goals: I believe each student can contribute to
learning in some form or another. My goal is to keep this class as interactive as possible
with class discussions and cooperating learning activities. It is imperative that the student
does not fall behind in coursework because each new topic is built upon the previous one.
This class will prepare the student for real life business situations and topics learned will
be useful in their everyday lives. I look forward to a positive and productive school year
and I hope you feel the same!
The rules above are permanent and I have the choice to add and/or change the rules at
anytime.
Thank you,
Mr. Pavicic
