AIRPORT WEST ACTIVITY CENTRE STRUCTURE PLAN REVIEW
Have your say on the future of Airport West. What are the most important issues facing
Airport West and how you would like to see them tackled? Council has developed a Draft
Issues and Opportunities Report which identifies key issues facing Airport West, and the
opportunities that respond to them, as the first step in revising the existing Airport West
Activity Centre Structure Plan.

Meet one on one with officers to discuss the draft report and provide feedback. Come at any
time during the session and stay for as little or as long as you like:
Date: Wednesday, 9 September, 3pm-7pm
Venue: Bowes Avenue Community Centre, 27-31 Bowes Avenue, Airport West
Interactive Map

LONG TERM PLANNING IN MOONEE VALLEY
Integrated Transport Plan/ Road Safety Plan
How do you want day-to-day travel in Moonee Valley improved?
We’ll be at venues around Moonee Valley to hear from you about your travel experiences
and your ideas to improve journeys in Moonee Valley.
You can also let us know by completing our online survey by Friday, 30 October for your
chance to win Gold Class movie tickets. Council will use your feedback to update our most
important transport strategies; the Integrated Transport Plan and the Road Safety Plan.
Feeling creative? Create a piece of visual art that shows either what you want changed
about today’s transport, or what you think Moonee Valley’s transport network will look like in
10 years and go into the draw to win overnight accommodation for two including breakfast at
Peppers Mineral Spings Hotel in Daylesford. Prize donated by Nelson Alexander Real
Estate. See our website for details.
Consultation begins today Monday, 7 September!
COMMUNITY CORNER
Leisure centre upgrade works
As part of our consultation on the Aquatic Leisure Centre Plan, many people told us about
the improvements they’d like to see at Ascot Vale Leisure Centre, and we’re excited to
announce that many of these will be completed in the coming 12 months!
In September we will be carrying out important maintenance works at the centre to replace
the floor around the 25 metre pool. We will be taking this opportunity to also complete some
of the improvements suggested by the community including installing water play features
and improving accessibility.
2015/2016 parking permit renewals
All 2014/15 parking permits expire on 31 October and the process to renew your permits for
2015/16 has started.
If you currently hold a permit without a fee – i.e. any combination of up to two resident
permits and/or the first visitor permit – these will be automatically renewed and posted to
you. Look out for your permit(s) in the post in mid-October.
If you currently hold a second visitor permit which does have a fee payable, a renewal form
will be sent to you in September.
