Weather parameters recorded 21-Oct. to 27-Oct. 2015 at Agro met-Observatory, IGKV Raipur
As per the observations recorded at Agromet Observatory, IGKV, Raipur Maximum
temperature varied between 33.0 to 35.2 °C as against the normal of 30.4°C. Similarly minimum
temperature varied between 20.5°C to 22.4°C as against the normal of 19.0°C. Fluctuations in other
weather parameters were also reported during the week. Bright sunshine hour during this period varied
between 7.4 to 9.5 hours/day. Average wind speed and evaporation for the week remain 2.2 kmph and
3.8 mm/day, respectively.

Agro-advisories
Rice crop:
1. Looking to the anticipated mainly dry weather condition, farmers are advised to
harvest the matured rice crop and keep it in the field for proper sun drying only
for 1-2 days. Regular monitoring is required for late sown rice.
2. To control the brown leaf hopper (brown mahoo) apply Bupronfenjik @ one
litre per ha. or Ethiprole + Imidacloprid 150 m.l. or Dinotefuran 200 gram
dissolved in 500 litre water/ha and spray near base portion of the plants.
3. To control attack of blast in rice crop apply insecticide Tricyclozole @ 350 gram
/ ha. dissolved in 500 litter water.
4. If one adult of stem borer seen in one square meter then use Rynaxypyr
(Coragen) @ 150 gram dissolved in 500 litre water /ha. Collect the cluster of
eggs and destroy it.
Oilseed & Pulses
1. Prepare the fields for sowing of rabi crops and go for sowing of Chickpea,
Safflower, Lentil and Linseed in time.
2. Sowing of fodder crop like Oat and Barseem can also be taken up.
Sugarcane:
1. Planting of winter sugarcane crop can be taken up.
2. To control pyrilla in sugarcane crop drain out water from the field and collect
the adult by using light trap and destroy it. Stop immediately the application of
Nitrogenous fertilizer.
Vegetables:
1. Obtain good quality seeds of fruits and vegetable in advance from reliable
source and sowing of rabi season vegetable can be started.
2. Use Pheromone Traps @ 20 Nos/ha. to control attack of fruit borer in brinjal,
tomato and bhindi crops.
Mushroom:
1. Time is suitable for oyster mushroom production.
Fruit :
1. Farmers are advised to apply Dimethoate @ 1.5 m. l. per litre of water for
control of Mili bug in papaya crop.
2. If farmers have Banana and Papaya seedling ready, they may go for planting in
main field.
3. Farmers are advised to Paint stem of tree by using Bordo mixer/pest, maintain
cleanness in the orchard, prepare basin around the tree and apply recommended
dose of manure and fertilizer.
Animal husbandry:
1. Give cow’s first milk to new born calves within 1-2 hours and up to 4-5 days to
prevent from white diarrhea, navel disease and nimoniya etc.
2. Proper arrangements in animal shed for goat should be made. An adult goat
requires 1.25 to 1.5 square meters while for male goat and pregnant goat 2
square meter area is required per number.
3. The height of the roof of the goat shed must be 3-3.5 meters.
4. For winter born lambs & calves arrange dry, clean and thick beds of straw.
5. To increase the quality of paddy straw cut in small pieces and treat with 3-3.5
kg urea solution in 50 liter water and mixed in 1 quintal of paddy straw.
