JUNIOR HIGH POLICIES and CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
Classroom Expectations: The following are the posted classroom rules:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
Come into class, be seated and ready to learn. Do not leave your
seat without permission.
Come to class prepared, with your binder, paper, pencil pouch,
books, and homework.
Respect other students and their belongings. Respect school
property.
Raise your hand and wait to be recognized before speaking.
Follow directions the first time they are given.
Have a positive attitude, be willing to learn, and do your best!
Homework Policy: All homework should be done in a neat and timely manner.
Unless otherwise noted by the teacher, all homework is due the next day.
Homework that is late will be worth no more than 50%. Homework will be
posted on the class web page each day. It will also be written on the white
board each day. Students will copy the homework in their planner. Parents
need to sign the planner each night to check that the homework has been
completed.
Uniform Policy: All students should be in the correct uniform during the
school day. Notification will go home to the parent when the student is out of
proper uniform. (This includes not tucking in the shirt.) The first infraction is
a warning. The second is loss of the next free dress privilege. After three (3)
infractions, the conduct grade will be lowered. Please review the Handbook,
especially the area of uniform clothing and hair. We will strictly enforce the
Handbook.
Behavior Policy: Our goal is to create an encouraging and safe environment
for your child. This includes assisting students in making appropriate
behavioral choices. The classroom expectations are posted so that the
students know what is expected of them. Infractions of the classroom rules
will be dealt with on an individual basis.
If necessary, a
parent/student/teacher meeting will be held to assist the student in taking
responsibility for behavior and making better choices. Bullying of any type is
inexcusable.
Bullying will result in a conduct referral and a
parent/student/teacher meeting.
Additional notes:
 Each student will have one classroom binder; in the binder will be
subject dividers, a pencil pouch with pencils, eraser, a pen; and
reinforced binder paper. These supplies should be replenished as
needed.
 Water bottles will be allowed. ONLY WATER IS ALLOWED IN THE
CLASSROOM.
 Students will use the restroom at break and lunch.
 A student who has an appointment during class time will notify the
teacher by a note or phone call to the office at the beginning of the day.
