Course Description
The Learning Lab is designed to help students master study skills, organizational skills, help with
content in their classes, and increase their understanding of the TAKS objectives.
Grading Policies
20%- Attendance/Supplies/Materials
80%- Participation/Staying on Task
Classroom Rules/Procedures/Expectations:
1. Arrive on time every day: Students are expected to be in their seats when the bell rings.
Make a good habit of being on time to your class.
2. Bring materials to class every day: Students are required to bring a 3 ring binder, dividers,
pen, pencil, notebook paper, and textbooks to class everyday. I will be checking for these
supplies daily.
3. Be Kind and Courteous to others in the room.
4. I expect 100% effort from each student.
5. NO electronic devices- If I see or hear your cell phone, I will take it from you.
6. Students are allowed to use the hall/bathroom pass once per week. Time limit is 3
minutes.
7. I will dismiss class. All students must be in their seats, and all materials must be put away
before class is dismissed.
8. All Learning Lab class work (binder checks, note checks, warm –ups etc..) will receive a
grade.
9. Follow ALL school and classroom expectations.

I will “go the extra mile” to help you, but you must inform me of the need for help in a timely
manner. I am happy to assist you in communicating with your other teachers, as needed. I’m
looking forward to helping you achieve success in your classes this year!
