DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES For Reference Only CLASS CODE: 1324 PAY GRADE: 017 CLASS TITLE: TRAINING SPECIALIST II ALLOCATION FACTOR(S) This is work preparing and conducting seminars and workshops for training programs in the theory and practical application of a variety of treatment modalities, including reality therapy, behavior modification, learning theory, guided group interaction, role playing and parent effectiveness training, and the theory and practice of management and supervisory techniques or preparing and conducting training programs for services modalities, to train staff in certification activities, dissemination of information to the public, and program specific policies and procedures. Conducts formal classroom instruction, seminars, and workshops and provides on-site training to field personnel actively engaged in application treatment techniques and services programs. Prepares lesson guides, program plans, and evaluates the performance of trainees. Assists in planning and implementing seminars and workshops to be included in the training programs in the theory and practical application of a variety of treatment and services modalities. Prepares training records and reports. Meets with program personnel for the purpose of identifying current training needs for their particular operations. Responsible for preparing audio visual aids and operating audio visual equipment used during training workshops. Assists in coordinating the internship program of the universities and junior colleges. Participates in staff conferences and curricula development to develop and improve training programs. Performs related work as required. Knowledge of the principles of human behavior, learning, and communication. Knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of training or instruction. Ability to train individuals or groups of people. Ability to evaluate and analyze training data. Ability to work independently. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to training functions. Ability to prepare a variety of written training materials such as lesson plans, curricula, performance evaluations or reports. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of professional experience in training, education, staff development, personnel or an agency program area. A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitutefor the required experience.
