GETTING TO KNOW ST. FRANCIS Snapshot 139 – One night, we are told,
the friary was aroused by the cry “I am dying”. “Who are you” exclaimed Francis
arising, “and why are you dying?” “I am dying of hunger” answered the voice of
one who had been too prone to fasting. Whereupon Francis had a table laid out and
sat down beside the famished friar, and lest the latter might be ashamed to eat alone,
ordered all the other brethren to join in the repast.
WE PRAY FOR THE DEAD AND THOSE WHO MOURN THEM:
OLPH FOOD PANTRY – THANK YOU! Your continued response to the Food
Pantry Weekend is much needed and appreciated along with the weekly food
contributions. With the economic problems upon us, there is an increased demand
on our emergency supplies. So thank you so much for all your donations &
especially for your caring attention to this ongoing cause. Recently our supplies are
very low and we sorely need coffee, tea, cereals, peanut butter, spaghetti sauces,
school snacks, soaps and shelf milk. The next Food Pantry Weekend Blitz will be
August 2/3.
OUR PASTORAL HOME CARE GROUP meets once a month. If you would
like to join the group or know of someone who is confined to their home, residence
or hospital & would like a visit from one of the members of the group, please call
Clare Frenette 450-692-0246.
THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS - (R.C.I.A.) supports
and encourages the spiritual journeys of all of us. The R.C.I.A. is an ongoing
process within parish life. It is designed to welcome new members into the Church
and at the same time to lead every Catholic parishioner to deeper belief and renewal
of his or her Christian faith. For more information please call the parish office.
O.L.P.H. MEMORIAL/BEQUEST FUND – O.L.P.H., like all churches, counts on
support from its parishioners and friends to continue its mission of evangelization.
Our parish has established a Memorial/Bequest Fund and would like to encourage
parishioners and friends to consider this fund when preparing their wills or to
remember a loved one or friend when they pass away. We offer you this unique
opportunity in helping to do the Lord’s work at OLPH for future generations. For
more information on this subject, please contact:
Memorial/Bequest Fund Committee c/o the Parish Office at 450-691-4430.
