Pastor’s Comments:
 Catholic Schools Walk:
o St. Matthias won trophy this year for percentage participation compared to school
enrollment

o Launch goal is early-January
 New Parishioners
o Increasing numbers to our parish
o Plans to have a reception 4x/year for new parishioners
 Christmas Day Mass will be at 9:30am. Only one mass that day. Attendance is low on
Christmas Day, a trend at most Catholic churches and Protestant communities.
 Parish Auction and Social: February 27, 2016 at Christ King, with the Eddie Butts Band
 Parish-wide Calendar needed so activities are not bunched together
 Lance Hill of CBS 58 did a “shout out” to Christ King School kids
Old Business

o Discuss targeting youth reps at December meeting
o Check on past spring nominations and focus on current freshman and sophomores
o Volunteer opportunities announced at Tosa Trio Masses and CK pulpit
 “Divine Renovation” Book talk for PC Members
o Meet Saturday mornings once a month from 8am-9am beginning Nov.14
o Record sessions as archive
o Parish staff possibly joining book talk
New Business
 Tri-Parish Leadership Retreat – January 29-30. Details to come
 Feast of Christ the King, November 21/22.
o Originally planned a chili cook-off, but that should be moved to later in winter
 Cluster Planning: council and committee meetings discussion
o Council finds Option 2 (3 separate councils w/ common meeting night) preferable
at this time. Separate notes were taken for that discussion.
The Pastoral Council meeting ended at 9:05pm. The next meeting will be the Common Meeting
night on December 2 beginning at 6:15pm in the Church.
