GETTING TO KNOW ST. FRANCIS Snapshot 147 – The animals found in Francis a
tender friend and protector, thus we find him pleading with the people of Gubbio to feed the
fierce wolf that had revisited their flocks, because through hunger “Brother Wolf” had done
thus wrong.
WE PRAY FOR THE DEAD AND THOSE WHO MOURN THEM:
Sid Hill of our parish, husband of Helen McGowan of our parish, whose funeral
was held here on Tuesday, September 16.
Francine Bourgeois, also of our parish, wife of Len Bourgeois of our parish, whose
funeral was held here this past Saturday morning.
OLPH FOOD PANTRY – THANK YOU! Your continued response to the Food Pantry
Weekend is much needed and appreciated along with the weekly food contributions. With the
economic problems upon us and children going back to school, there is an increased demand
on our emergency supplies. So thank you so much for all your donations & especially for
your caring attention to this ongoing cause. Recently our supplies are very low and we sorely
need coffee, tea, cereals, peanut butter, spaghetti sauces, school snacks, juices, soaps and shelf
milk. The next Food Pantry Weekend Blitz will be October 4/5.
OUR PASTORAL HOME CARE GROUP meets once a month. If you would like to join
the group or know of someone who is confined to their home, residence or hospital & would
like a visit from one of the members of the group, please call Clare Frenette 450-692-0246.
THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS - (R.C.I.A.) supports
and encourages the spiritual journeys of all of us. The R.C.I.A. is an ongoing
process within parish life. It is designed to welcome new members into the Church
and at the same time to lead every Catholic parishioner to deeper belief and renewal
of his or her Christian faith. For more information please call the parish office.
O.L.P.H. MEMORIAL/BEQUEST FUND – O.L.P.H., like all churches, counts on support
from its parishioners and friends to continue its mission of evangelization. Our parish has
established a Memorial/Bequest Fund and would like to encourage parishioners and friends to
consider this fund when preparing their wills or to remember a loved one or friend when they
pass away. We offer you this unique opportunity in helping to do the Lord’s work at OLPH for
future generations. For more information on this subject, please contact:
Memorial/Bequest Fund Committee c/o the Parish Office at 450-691-4430.
