GETTING TO KNOW ST. FRANCIS Snapshot 131– It has been said with pardonable
warmth that Francis entered into glory in his lifetime and that he is the one saint whom all
succeeding generations have agreed in canonizing.
SECULAR FRANCISCAN BAKE SALE – SUNDAY JUNE 8TH after 10:30 Mass. We are
making an appeal to the kindness of our parishioners to aid us by contributing whatever baked
goods you can, either before the Saturday or Sunday Mass (June 7/8). The more successful the
Bake Sale, the more we can help those in need. Thank you so much.
WE PRAY FOR THE DEAD AND THOSE WHO MOURN THEM :
THE SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE received a Thank You note from the Missionary
Sisters of the Assumption from Davao City in the Philippines for our donation of $500. which
were the proceeds from a Bake Sale held at our Fair Trade Fair in December. The money was
used to buy rice for the evacuees in their area after they were hit by another typhoon called
Agaton. Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners, we are once again making a small
difference in the lives of people who are really in need.
THE COMUNIDAD LATINOAMERICANA DEL GRAN CHATEAUGUAY invite you
to a traditional Latino breakfast Sunday June 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The breakfast will take
place in the basement of the Ste-Marguerite d’Youville Church, 130 St. Jean Baptiste. Price
for the meal is $12. or $6. For kids 6 years and under. Profits will be dedicated towards
helping the Spanish speaking community in their services, particularly newcomers to
Chateauguay. Also the Community wants to maintain the possibility of religious education in
Spanish for the youth. Tickets are available with Fr. Marcelo or with Marcel (or Chin)
Beaudoin at 450-698-2331. Welcome to everyone.
LET’S DEFEND HUMAN LIFE & DIGNITY – Bishop Simard insists that we act
quickly – Please read document: http://www.diocesevalleyfield.org/french/english/home.
OLPH FOOD PANTRY – THANK YOU! Your continued response to the Food Pantry
Weekend is much needed and appreciated along with the weekly food contributions. With the
economic problems upon us, there is an increased demand on our emergency supplies. So
thank you so much for all your donations & especially for your caring attention to this ongoing
cause. Recently our supplies are very low and we sorely need coffee, tea, cereals, peanut
butter, spaghetti sauces, school snacks, Kraft dinners and shelf milk. The next Food Pantry
Weekend Blitz will be July 5/6.
OUR PASTORAL HOME CARE GROUP meets once a month. If you would like to join
the group or know of someone who is confined to their home, residence or hospital & would

every Catholic parishioner to deeper belief and renewal of his or her Christian faith. For more

from its parishioners and friends to continue its mission of evangelization. Our parish has
established a Memorial/Bequest Fund and would like to encourage parishioners and friends to
consider this fund when preparing their wills or to remember a loved one or friend when they
pass away. We offer you this unique opportunity in helping to do the Lord’s work at OLPH for
future generations. For more information on this subject, please contact:
