Pastoral Plan
MISSION STATEMENT FOR THE PARISH OF ST. RICHARD
We, the faith-filled Eucharistic community of Saint Richard Catholic Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, seek
to build the kingdom of God by witnessing to the Good News of Jesus Christ. As the Body of Christ, we
joyfully celebrate the Sacraments, the Word of God and our Catholic Tradition. We strive to strengthen our
parish family through spiritual devotion and faith formation. Impassioned by our love for Christ, we reach
out and serve the needs of the entire community.
Below are the Objectives for each of the Goals of the Pastoral Plan for St. Richard Parish. We encourage your
review, and welcome your feedback. Please write your comments below each goal, and submit via one of the

Goal for Evangelization: Create a welcoming presence and provide avenues to witness, nurture and proclaim
the faith.
Objective 1) Establish a St. Richard Welcome Program for new parishioners.
Objective 2) Research and develop a program for parents with children from newborn to five years of age.

Goal for Eucharist: Create and nourish our Catholic identity as a faith-filled Eucharistic community by our life of
liturgy.
Objective 1) Rededicate and teach our reverence for the liturgy of the Mass.
Objective 2) Increase participation in Eucharistic Adoration.

Goal for Catechesis: Cultivate and build up our Church family upon Sacred Scripture and Church Tradition.
Objective 1) Emphasize the value and blessings of our Catholic sacraments.

Goal for Formation: Provide opportunities for conversion to Christ and continued spiritual growth.
Objective 1) Promote regular and daily prayer as being vital to a personal relationship with the living and
true God.
Objective 2) Utilize technology for Adult Faith Formation.

Goal for Stewardship: Attain growth of ministries by nurturing participation from active parishioners while
encouraging participation from less active parishioners.
Objective 1) Extend personal invitations and build an inclusive environment within our parish ministries
and events.
Objective 2) Challenge parishioners to give 30-60 minutes a month of their time to the parish community.
