You will only pay the price of the voucher and not a penny more but the parish will benefit from the sale. Vouchers are on sale, before and after each weekend mass. John or Mary Hallett CONFIRMATION 2015 Young people who will be in at least Year 9 from September 2014 are invited to give some thought to registering for Confirmation in 2015. Brazilians, who have traditionally been tolerant of their various social classes & ethnic groups, are now living through a time of growing intolerance made manifest in high levels of violence, especially against minorities and the vulnerable. The Brazilian churches have begun to recognise that intolerance should be dealt with in a positive way - respecting diversity and promoting dialogue as a permanent path of reconciliation and peace in fidelity to the gospel. Jesus challenges us to acknowledge that diversity is part of God's design, to approach one another in trust and to see the face of God in the face of all men and women. For more information please visit http://www.ctbi.org.uk/681 _________________________________________________________________ Cardinal’s Mass of Thanksgiving for the Sacrament of Matrimony Westminster Cathedral, Saturday 23rd May 2015 at 3.00 p.m. The Cardinal will be inviting to this Mass all couples in the Diocese who are celebrating their 10th, 25th, 40th, 50th and 60th(and every year over 60) wedding anniversary of Catholic marriage in 2015. This method is also very helpful for couples having difficulty conceiving and is a natural alternative to IVF. A clinic is held by arrangement at St Joseph’s Church Hall, Hertford. For appointments email info@billingsmethodhertford.org.uk or visit www.billingsmethodhertford.org.uk. IF YOU GO IN TO HOSPITAL: Catholics in hospital are unlikely to receive an automatic visit from the Catholic Chaplain, as this information is now systematically withheld from Chaplains. If someone is sick in hospital, please let us know here at the presbytery, or ask the staff on the ward, so that your loved one can be visited whilst in hospital, and receive Holy Communion and any other Sacraments from the Chaplain. Q. What happened at the Last Supper? A. Jesus washed the feet of his apostles on the evening before his death; he instituted the Eucharist and founded the priesthood of the New Covenant. Jesus showed his consummate love in three ways: He washed his disciples’ feet and showed that he is among us as one who serves. He symbolically anticipated his redeeming Passion by speaking these words over the gifts of bread and wine: “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” Likewise the chalice after supper, saying, “This chalice which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood” (Lk 22:19). In this way he instituted the Holy Eucharist. When Jesus commanded the Apostles, “Do this in remembrance of me” (1 Cor 11:24b), he made them priests of the New Covenant.
