GETTING TO KNOW ST. FRANCIS Snapshot 145 – Courtesy, indeed, in the saint’s quaint concept, was the younger sister of charity and one of the qualities of

God Himself, who “of His courtesy”, he declares, “gives His sun and His rain to the just and the unjust.”

CONGRATULATIONS AND PRAYERFUL GOOD WISHES to the following couple who were married in our parish last weekend:

Katrina Giuliani & Andrew Gauthier Esdon

WE PRAY FOR THE DEAD AND THOSE WHO MOURN THEM :

Joseph Gerald Deighton, Brother and brother-in-law of Irene & Stan Roussell of our parish, who died on August 28 th and whose funeral was held at St. George’s Church this Saturday morning.

OLPH FOOD PANTRY – THANK YOU!

Your continued response to the Food

Pantry Weekend is much needed and appreciated along with the weekly food contributions. With the economic problems upon us and children going back to school, there is an increased demand on our emergency supplies. So thank you so

much for all your donations & especially for your caring attention to this ongoing cause. Recently our supplies are very low and we sorely need coffee, tea, cereals, peanut butter, spaghetti sauces, school snacks, juices, soaps and shelf milk. The next Food Pantry Weekend Blitz will be October 4/5.

INVITATION FROM OUR DIOCESE: Parishioners are invited and encouraged to visit on a regular basis our Valleyfield Diocese Website at www.Diocese

deValleyfield. There is a section specially designated for the Englishspeaking of the Diocese – to open this section, simply click “English” in the upper right hand corner of the page.

THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS - (R.C.I.A

.) supports and encourages the spiritual journeys of all of us. The R.C.I.A. is an ongoing process within parish life. It is designed to welcome new members into the Church and at the same time to lead every Catholic parishioner to deeper belief and renewal of his or her Christian faith. For more information please call the parish office.

O.L.P.H. MEMORIAL/BEQUEST FUND – O.L.P.H., like all churches, counts on support from its parishioners and friends to continue its mission of evangelization.

Our parish has established a Memorial/Bequest Fund and would like to encourage parishioners and friends to consider this fund when preparing their wills or to remember a loved one or friend when they pass away. We offer you this unique opportunity in helping to do the Lord’s work at OLPH for future generations. For more information on this subject, please contact:

Memorial/Bequest Fund Committee c/o the Parish Office at 450-691-4430.
