Edmodo looks like social
networking sites…
You should talk
about…
Not about…
A few tips on
netiquette:
No txting lingo. We r
ur teachers…show us
that u have learned
how 2 spell.
DO NOT PUT
SENTENCES IN
ALL CAPITAL
LETTERS.
Do not end sentences with
more than one exclamation
mark!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or question
mark????????????
Please please please do
not repeat a word more
than necessary.
Post a note to the whole group if your
question is about something the whole
group should know (assignments,
instructions, dates, etc.)
Send a note only to your
teacher if you want to talk
about something that
doesn’t relate to everyone.
Don’t post personal
questions to the group.
Keep conversations on
topic.
If you’re not sure if a word
or joke is okay, then it’s
probably not. Refrain from
posts that tease, bully,
annoy, spam, or gossip
about any other members.
If you think there is
something inappropriate
posted in an Edmodo
group, tell a teacher
immediately.
Good rule of thumb: If
you wouldn’t say it to
your teacher or another
student in front of your
principal, don’t type it.
Quiz Time!
Give a thumbs-up or
thumbs-down to show
whether these examples are
good uses of Edmodo.
“I don’t understand
#3 on the
homework. What is
the answer?”
“I don’t understand
#3 on the
homework. What
strategy did you
guys use?”
“Anyone on
here? I’m
bored.”
“What day is
our test?”
“I’m going to dress
up as a giant M&M
for Halloween. What
are you guys going
to do?”
“I was absent today.
What did I miss?”
“Tyler is soooo cute. I
love the way he flips
his hair like Justin
Beiber did before he
got it cut.”
“Let’s all go online
at 6:00 to study for
the test tomorrow.”
