Student Development Specialist III Purpose Purpose: Provide current undergraduate students in the College of Business and prospective students new to UT Arlington with programs and information to supplement and enhance the academic experience, student retention, and graduation. Essential Functions Function 1: Meet individually with students in the College of Business to provide guidance on academic issues such as meeting degree requirements, proper course selection, and assisting students in formulating successful academic strategies. 25 % Time Function 2: Develop, plan, and implement existing student programs, activities, and projects and review outcomes with Assistant Director and/or Director. Recommend and manage new programs designed to enhance student development and success. Coordinate project work assignments and train office staff as needed regarding the program or initiative. 35 % Time Function 3: Maintain a clear understanding of all applicable University and College of Business policies and procedures in order to implement, solve, and prevent when possible student problems or issues. 10 % Time Function 4: Monitor the academic progress of students and provide them with assistance in setting and achieving educational and career goals. 10 % Time Function 5: Provide students with information about additional programs and support services such as counseling and tutoring with the College and University 10 % Time Function 6: Participate in meetings, professional conferences, and individual professional development 5 % Time Function 7: Perform related advising duties as required, including, but not limited to, Preview Days, Orientations, Graduation, and recruiting efforts. 5 % Time Function 8: % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions Marginal/Incidental Functions: Other functions as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Master's degree in business or related field. 3 years of experience in an advisory, administrative, or educational capacity with college students or adolescents in community youth groups.
