Minutes: Minutes from October 4th were approved.
 Jo Ann:
 President has decided that all of the Compton Center bond projects will go through both
boards. Soon we will take over the Bid and procurement process for the three projects at
Compton.
 November board meeting date has changed from the 21st to the 16th.
 Rocky – have Dipte respond to you on items #14 & #25 from the October board. Please
forward her email over to me when you get it.
 Tom B – look into the setup at the Campus Theatre when board meeting are moved there.
 Green Committee – Tom B. has been appointed as a representative for Administrative
Services.
 Plan Builder – all plans have been updated in Plan Builder for last year. It might be a good
idea to invite Arvid to the next staff meeting.
 Mike - email a summary of the cost for the LRC security detail.
 Bob - setup up a meeting with you, me and Dr. Arce on the removal of the modular
building in parking Lot B.
 Janice – would like Debbie from LACOE to come to discuss the STRS issue at the Vice
President’s meeting.
 Julie – give Babs all of the bank reconciliation and he will initial off on them before the
auditors get here.
 Babs – going to be volunteered for Bond issue at Compton.
 Don’t hit the send button on the 311 report, since today and tomorrow there will
be more discussion on the 50% law.
 Great job on the management letter comment.
 Each month Shobhana will be sending you the 10 things list, please read it, there might be
things you might be volunteered for. For example: in this month’s listing I have included
that IT, Facilities and Business Services will work together on the exterior campus Wi-Fi.
 Don’t know when FCMAT is scheduled to come.
Committee Reports/Division Issues:
 Bob:
 MBA meeting is currently going on and Bruce is attending that meeting.
 Met with the President on Facilities Master Plan.
 Bids to go out on Phase 2 of the restroom renovation with construction starting in June.
 Northern modular building in Lot B will be removed.
 Mike:
 Fred has not responded to his request for information.
 Assessment test score issue, officers are talking with District Attorney.
 Tentative dates for Active Shooter training at Compton are being scheduled.
 LRC security detail will keep going.
 Going to email Dr. Curry on the parking permit machines costs. Would like to know who
will be ordering the parking permit machines, ECC or Compton?
 Babs:
 Working on Compton’s 311 report.
 Thanks to Janice for helping on the 311.
 Looked at Compton’s revised budget and some of the journal entries are not in it.
 Tom B:
 Interview for the custodians are done.
 Need to talk with HR regarding 10 month employees and it will work.
 John:
 Working on getting the reference checks done for the finalists.
 Hiep Tran is back to work.
 Final interview is this Thursday, at 1pm with the President.
 Bathrooms at Compton are not cleaned on a regular basis. Have told Wayne Ward on
many occasions and still no response. (Send a brief email to Jo Ann on this issue).
 Printer has been bought for the timesheets.
 Rocky:
 This Thursday, October 20th is the Great California Shakeout.
 Will have Administrative help starting November 1st
 Julie & Andy:
 Slow time at the bookstore.
 Books are closed, bank reconciliations are done and the financials are ready for the
auditors. All items turned into Janice for reporting.
 Book orders are coming for Winter session.
 Got the last proposal on the new cash register.
 Janice & Tom C:
 Had a pre audit meeting with the staff.
 Auditors will be here mid November.
 311 report is done and will send it over for your signature.
 STRS reporting issue.
 Did not know that Admissions was collecting money on the web for transcripts? Don’t
know where the money is being deposited?
 CoTOP information for both campus were sent and already getting feedback.
