Jo Ann: Management Forum is this Thursday, August 4th at 8am in the Alondra Room. Rocky – Please update the cell phone document with the changes and email it. o Look into the contract with Plan Net (Compton) to see that it has a conflict of interest clause written (work with John). Four positions under Administrative Services were approved to be filled: HVAC Technician, Police officer and 2 Custodians. These positions were originally 11 month, but Payroll and HR said that don’t have enough 11 month codes, so the President obliged by making these positions 10 month employee. Work with HR on getting it filled. Tom B - Will walk the Social Science this afternoon. Mike – need to go over the “dry run” for the Management Forum presentation today. o Will attend Vice President’s meeting tomorrow. Babs is helping Compton with Bond & Capital Outlay funds, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and helping write Journal Entry. o Validate that the last management letter comment that focused on the bookstore was taken care of and then write the districts response for it. o Will be at Compton tomorrow afternoon. Bob – will be at Compton LRC Architects meeting at 9:00am tomorrow. Excess vacation – should have plans in place to take care of this issue by December 31, 2011. Let Shobhana know when you are off campus for more than an hour. Some of you keep us informed. John – will forward the email from Irene Graff regarding the “major no longer issued”. o Send emails to Jo Ann prior to sending it out. o Need a list of all of the California Colleges that are on Datatel. o Do a write up on Batch Degree Audit and Migrating Datatel Colleague from Pick Unidata to Microsoft SQL Servers. Bruce & John - give a list of all minor projects that will be completed before Fall semester begins. Keith Curry has graciously offered his conference room for us to work in if the air circulation issue gets too much in the other areas of the Compton campus. Committee Reports/Division Issues: Julie: Getting ready for Fall semester. Will find out if the air conditioning at Compton is working. Finished reconciling Accounts Receivable and Account Payable. Closing books and processing invoices for Fall books. Online book orders are being processed. Still working on the issues with the Math book order. The management letter comment from last year has been taken care of. Bob: Magnus Rex Batman Movie - Offer was extended of $150,000 on rental fees and deadline of Sunday. They think it was unreasonable on both counts. Per Jo Ann we can decrease the rental fee but the deadline stand at Sunday. Furthermore, a $10,000 penalty for every 15 minutes they are late on the Sunday deadline. Will give update as it develops. They have setup in the flood channel on the south end of campus. Restroom Renovation – completed substantial work on Phase I of the restroom renovation. Met with Sherman and their attorney for beginning work on Phase II. There were some conditions set forth: schedule inflexible; self termination if they don’t do the work and punch list for Phase I needs to be completed. (next meeting with PacWest, include Jo Ann) Social science grand opening is August 15 at 3:30. Tom B: Work is being done on the baseball field. Bond funds are being used for this. Work should be completed in 2-6 weeks. Dean has moved back into the Social Science Building. Mike: All ready for the presentation this Thursday for the management forum. We are ready for Fall semester to being – we will have the tent setup. Rocky Accrual is done John: Meeting with STA went well. Issues with Math labs furniture. Will meet with Bruce and include Rocky in this meeting. Migrating Datatel Colleague from Pick Unidata to Microsoft SQL Server. At the conference last month Contra Costa College A&R did a presentation on their batch degree audit – program was developed in looking at all students eligible for degree, but did not apply, the system would run the report and capture the information within minutes. Gathering information to do a beta test at ECC. Computer installed in the Library and Testing lab. Working on the Natural Science lab and the teaching room. Once labs are done, we will install new computer to the Fiscal Services area. Bruce Building Automated Systems Technician is going on Military assignment until Dec 2011. Work is being done in Art 103 & 106 classroom. Furniture will arrive on Monday. Installation work for Art 211 & 215 will begin next week. Fitness center equipment installation was done on Friday Work is in progress on the Training Center. Working on MBA project – road way should be completed before school begins. Walkway on the North side of the Music should be done before school starts and work will begin on the South side of the Music building.
