event.
o Cell phones that Bob, Bruce and Tom B. use need to be included in the list with all
other cell phones that Campus Police pays for.

MAIL”. Again, if ITS is doing the presentation, then with Campus Police do a “dry run” of
the presentation.
o Email a brief unduplicated summary on the report on portal of the number of students
that have used the Education Plan and number of students that have used Degree Audit.
 Rocky, please Thank Capri for all the work that she is doing at Compton.
 Thanks to all of you who are increasingly involved in helping Compton.
 Tom B. - would like to walk Social Science Office, when furniture is setup.
 Babs will be going to Compton to look into Accounts Receivable.
 Board had no issue with contracts. Doing a write up on the Facilities Rental pertaining to the
area school graduations.
 Babs, Rocky & Janice work on creating a check list of items that are done on a monthly basis
in the Accounting and Purchasing areas.
 Andy – saw your email; that is exactly what needs to be done. Please put a file together of
these types of issues.
o Need a list of all items being sold at the Compton Center bookstore that have the “El
Camino College Compton Center” emblem.
o Forward to Julie – at the next meeting needs to give an update on the new software for

has been issued in the last four years.
 Chancellor’s Office Budget Workshop will be on Wednesday, August 17 @ Citrus College.
 Tom C – pattern on when classified, confidential and supervisors take their vacation by
department. Ignore vacations less than a day.
 Excess vacation – by next week, need to know from all of you that this issue is taken care of.
Committee Reports/Division Issues:
 Andy:
 Books are starting to arrive
 There has not been HVAC at the Compton Center for a year. Some of the chocolate items
cannot be sold in the summer months.
 Sales are down 10%.
 Bob:
 There has been a positive change in attitude since Mr. Lasnik sent off the letter to the
company. Still don’t know if they have the ability to perform the job.
 The window of opportunity has closed to do work in the Marsee Auditorium and Campus
Theatre due to the failure of performance in this project. We are looking for future dates
for these two venues.
 Janice & Tom C:
 Going to LACOE this afternoon.
 Finished the project on the multiple assignments and this list has 1,140 assignments. Need
to go and take out some of the multiple assignments and assignments no longer being used.
Will have a refined list soon.
 Tom B:
 Furniture is being delivered to the Social Science building. Classroom furniture will be
delivered next week.
 Contractor for the restroom renovation would like to punch out this week on phase II. (Per
Jo Ann phase II will not start until she has a talk with the company owner.)
 Mike:
 Campus police training went well. Officers from the Compton Center and Gardena Police
were involved in this training exercise.
 Officer has to be willing to give their life to protect our students, if they can’t, then they are
in the wrong profession.
 Similar “Campus Police Training” has been scheduled for the Winter Break for the center
with the involvement of the Sheriff’s department.
 Yesterday a murder suspect that Gardena PD was looking for was spotted in the drive
through of McDonald across from the campus. Suspect was taken into custody without any
incident.
 Barbara Perez has requested Campus Police to get a response from a part-time faculty
member who did work for the Center but currently is no longer with the campus. This
faculty member has not turned in the keys or final grades
 John:
 Southland was not at Compton Center on Monday.
 Claudio and John will be at Datatel Conference on Wednesday and Thursday.
 On Portal there is a report on the number of students that have used Degree Audit and the
Education Plan. On record, 10,000 students have used Degree Audit and 3,000 students
have used Education Plan. These numbers could have duplication.
 Rocky:
 The President would like to know: What is going on with Accounts Payable at Compton
Center? Why? and How do you fix it?
 End of accrual is on Monday.
 Sent an email to Lynn asking her for assistance until August 23rd.
Meeting adjourned at 11.30 a.m.
