Purpose
This unit standard is for people who are at pre-employment
level or who have recently started work in the motor or related
industries. People credited with this unit standard are able to
under supervision interpret the instructions received from the
supervisor, and plan the job in the motor or related industries.

The following legislation (and subsequent amendments) is applicable to this unit
standard and must be followed where applicable:
– Safety and Health in Employment Act 1992.

Company policy includes workplace standards, practices, and procedures, which
must comply with current legislation requirements. It is assumed the policy also
meets product manufacturers' specifications, recommendations, and standards.

Evidence requirements
2.1
Range of job is identified according to company policy.
2.2
Procedures for carrying out the job are identified according to company policy.
2.3
Parts and tools are selected to enable the job to be carried out according to
company policy and manufacturers’ specifications.
2.4
Job is planned so that it is carried out safely within the time specified and to the
manufacturer’s specifications and company policy.
This unit standard is expiring. Assessment against the standard must take place by
the last date for assessment set out below.

NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
