People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of payment types; demonstrate knowledge of legislation relating to the sale of goods; and carry out office procedures in an automotive company. Evidence requirements 1.1 Credit and debit cards and motor industry voucher types are identified. 1.2 Company and bank procedures for accepting cheques are identified. Evidence requirements 2.1 Key points of the Consumer Guarantees Act, the Fair Trading Act, and the Sales of Goods Act are identified in terms of the sale of goods. Outcome 3 Carry out office procedures in an automotive company. Evidence requirements 3.1 The customer payment handling policy is verified according to company policy. 3.2 The Point of Sale system is operated according to company policy. 3.3 Payments are processed, and sales documentation is completed accurately and legibly and complies with legislative requirements. Range invoice, receipt, cash, cheques, credit and debit cards, motor industry vouchers. 3.4 Sales documents are presented to the customer according to company policy. 3.5 Security procedures are followed according to company policy. 3.6 Customer records are maintained according to the company's filing system. 3.7 Credit procedure for returning goods is identified according to company policy. 3.8 The company's banking procedure is identified according to company and bank requirements. This unit standard is expiring. Assessment against the standard must take place by the last date for assessment set out below.
