People credited with this unit standard are able to: display service station goods for sale; sell goods to a customer; and keep goods in a self-service fixture replenished. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Display service station goods for sale. Evidence requirements 1.1 The purpose, shape, colour, and other attributes of the goods for sale are identified. 1.2 A display is maintained to enhance the appeal of the goods. Range 1.3 shelves fully stocked where goods are available, stock rotated, stock checked for damage and damaged items removed and reported to the supervisor, labelling and pricing correct, clean and dust free. The priority of the product compared with others on sale, is determined, and the display is positioned to attract the desired amount of attention. Evidence requirements 2.1 Product information is collected so that it can be referred to on demand. 2.2 Customers are greeted in a manner and time that establish goodwill and project the company's image. 2.3 Customer's needs are established, and suitable products and their attributes are shown or demonstrated to the customer safely and confidently. 2.4 The sale is closed with timing appropriate to customer's needs and employer's policy. 2.5 The goods are packaged carefully and personally presented to the customer. 2.6 Information on after sales service is clearly explained to the customer. Outcome 3 Keep goods in a self-service fixture replenished. Evidence requirements 3.1 The fixture is checked at regular intervals to ensure that the goods never run out when these goods are available from service station stock, and any fixture malfunction is reported to the supervisor. 3.2 A supply of coins of suitable denominations is kept for coin operated machines. 3.3 The fixture and the goods are made secure against theft, or supervised to prevent theft. This unit standard is expiring. Assessment against the standard must take place by the last date for assessment set out below.
