People credited with this unit standard are able to: book in work; interpret instructions from the supervisor; and plan the job. Classification Motor Industry > Automotive Administration Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 The following legislation and subsequent amendments must be followed where applicable: Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992; Privacy Act 1993. 2 Company policy includes workplace standards, practices, and procedures, which must comply with current legislative requirements. The policy should also meet product manufacturers' specifications, recommendations, and standards. 3 Because of the particular nature of this unit standard it is essential that assessment be carried out in a commercial workplace under normal working conditions. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Book in work. Evidence requirements 1.1 Customer is greeted courteously according to company policy. 1.2 Customer and job details are obtained and recorded. Range 1.3 may include but is not limited to – name, address, phone number, work required. Recorded information is passed on to supervisor according to company policy. Evidence requirements 2.1 Processes of planning a job are identified. Range 2.2 sequence, completing job in allotted time, safety. Instructions received from the supervisor are identified and carried out according to company policy. Range verbal, written. Outcome 3 Plan the job. Evidence requirements 3.1 Range of job is identified according to company policy. 3.2 Procedures for carrying out the job are identified according to company policy. 3.3 Parts and equipment are selected to enable the job to be carried out according to company policy. 3.4 Job is planned so that it is carried out safely within the time specified, to the job specifications, and according to company policy.
