How will we learn it?
Learning Activities:
1. Students will review leader and rule and the new vocabulary word, governor, will be
introduced and discussed. (who is a governor a leader of?)
2. Read the unique book “Leaders in our state.” Answering questions throughout the
book.
3. Discuss as a group what types of rules keep us safe? What would happen without
those rules? (example; speed limits, etc)
4. Students will fill out their leveled worksheets and turn in as an exit ticket.

Learning Activities:
1. DO FIRST question; “What is the best way to solve an argument?” (Fight or talk it
out)
2. Use pictures and word cards from the unique template on how to solve problems.
3. Students will read and discuss each step (identify the problem, come up with
solutions, think through each solution, pick the best solution and do it, and think
about how the situation was helpful or could have been better. )
4. Students will be given random problem scenarios to think through, using their
template practiced above.
