Learning Activities:
1. Students will discuss how people rely on smart phones and telephones for
communication.
2. Students will read and rehearse the unique learning telephone information script.
3. Students will fill out or point to pictures of their personal telephone information.
4. Students will practice dialing the numbers on a practice phone.
5. Students will participate in a mock phone call using appropriately practiced
conversation targets.
How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly?
Assessment Methods: Exit tickets / participation grade
Checks for Understanding: throughout practices with the phone.

Materials: Monday folders with the Unique learning book and pictures supports as needed.

How will we learn it?
Learning Activities:
1. Students will do a HUB DO FIRST “How do we get items we use every day? Where do
they come from?”
2. Students will participate in a choral reading activity of the unique learning leveled
book “Where does it come from?” CH. 3: Come and Ride the Train.
3. Students will answer discussion questions during the book (example; “What is a
good/service?”)
4. Students will complete the associated unique learning leveled worksheets for this
book and turn in as an exit ticket.

remember a form of technology that is useful for trade.”

How will we learn it?
Learning Activities:
1. Students will answer questions about the internet and what it means to be safe.
2. Students will watch videos on internet safety.
3. Students will read the unique learning internet safety posters and discuss them as
a group.
4. Students will chapter 4 of the monthly leveled book: Keep On Trucking
5. Student will answer the associated worksheet questions for chapter 4 and submit
as a CFU.

2. Students will learn vocabulary terms; GPS, directions, N/S/E/W in reference to
maps.
3. Students will look at a map of WSH and locate the cardinal directions.
4. Students will practice telling someone how (directionally) they can get to a
specific desired location in the building.
5. Student will watch a brain pop on trade.
