Learning Activities: 1. Students will learn the unit vocaululary terms (grasslands, desert, bird, and mammal). 2. DO FIRST QUESTION: Gallery walk with pictures of ecosystems 3. Students will engage in choral reading and independent reading of the unit story. 4. Students will answer the comprehension questions at the bottom of each page of the story. 5. Students will work on their leveled worksheets as IP and turn in for a grade. How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly? DO FIRST QUESTION: Do we live in an ecosystem? And what kind of habitats do people live in? 2. Students will review the ecosystems from the previous lesson. 3. Students will engage in a read out loud and choral reading of the story chapter 1. 4. Students will answer the discussion questions at the bottom of each page. 5. Students will point out the word LIVE and living in the story. 6. Students will answer the questions on the living things worksheet from unique learning. Learning Activities: 1. DO FIRST: “Where do animals and good plants live where all their needs are metan ecosystem or a cloud?” 2. Students will discuss and examine places that meet people’s needs. 3. Students will look at the community book template from unique learning. 4. Students will draw/cut out and attach pictures to illustrate their community book. 5. Students will present their books to the class and turn them in for a grade. PART 1 of 3 Daily Objective: “IWBAT to work in a group to create a biome collage.” TEKS/AP/Standards: Modified curriculum/life science How will we learn it? Learning Activities: 1. DO FIRST: “Which biome has no trees and polar bears?- the desert or the tundra?” 2. Students will go through magazines, cut out pictures and create a group biome for the pre-selected ecosystems. 3. Students will turn in their biome and present them for a participation grade as well as a major grade. How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly?
