They will be working to ensure that their stories contain the characteristics of their chosen genre as well as integrate the picture, title and caption from Harris Burdick poster. There will be a publisher’s party in the first week of April where parents will be invited to hear their student’s Read All About It! Please note that students do not enter the school building in the morning until 9:05 am. Please do not send your child to school before 9:05 am, as we do not have the staffing to supervise them before this time. Thank you for your help in this matter. Students will determine the positive and negative effects of man-made characteristics including Clear Spring Park. Students will also identify the importance of waterways and the development of society around major transportation routes which include the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River. Science Students will be completing their study of the solar system. The students built space suits from recyclable materials that will help aliens live on another planet in our solar system. Be sure to ask them about their creations and the planet research. Reading Students will be using informational text and works of fiction during the month of March. We will be working with the students on their responses to their reading. We will be looking for students to give evidence, quotes, and examples from the text in the responses. Please continue to make sure your students are reading for at least 20 minutes every night. The students have the month of March to complete their required reading.
