We will be studying Tall Tales and Myths in reading groups and students will apply these characteristics to their writing. Students will also continue to work on the writing process with a focus on brainstorming and prewriting. Read All About It! The movements that will be focused on are the same that the students will be researching in their inquiry project for writing. Science Reading Students will be using myths, tall tales and mysteries in order to identify characteristics of each genre. They will also be focusing on point of view and working on using examples to support written responses. Please continue to make sure your students are reading for at least 20 minutes every night. Since a new quarter has now started, we will have a new set of book logs. The expectations are that the students will read at least 6 books and write short summaries about each of them that they can share with their classmates. Contact us! Students will be developing an understanding of electricity. They will begin their studies with static electricity and how the transfer of electrons occurs. We will be experimenting with electricity which includes building a working circuit.
