Second Grade
Reading
We are going to focus on
non-fiction text throughout
the end of fourth quarter.
Students will focus on
biographies in whole group
and in small group. We will
continue to work on asking
and answering questions and
identifying challenges a
character faced and how they
respondedWriting
to them.
Students will start a research
project this month. They will
choose a famous person who
has achieved many goals
throughout their lifetime. The
students will research their
person and write about how
their person achieved goals
using effort, motivation, and
persistence.
Math
Students will continue to focus
on 3-digit by 3-digit addition
and start working on
subtraction. Students will use
their knowledge of place value
to solve these addition and
subtraction problems involving
composing and decomposing.
Science
Students are working on the butterfly
lifecycle unit. During this unit the
students have been observing and
caring for their caterpillars. Students
will record their observations in a
journal. They will watch the lifecycle
as the caterpillars turn into butterflies.
Social Studies
Students will read biographies
to learn about American
leaders, innovators, and
heroes and identify their
importance in American
history.

Nos vamos a enfocar en textos

escogerán una persona

persona y escribirán como la

través del esfuerzo,
Matematica
motivación,
y persistencia.
Los estudiantes continuaran
enfocándose en sumar y
restar números de 3 dígitos.
Ellos usaran su conocimiento
del valor del puesto de cada
digito para resolver sumas y
restas que incluyen componer
y descomponer.

Ciencia
Los estudiantes han estado
estudiando el ciclo de vida de una
mariposa. Durante esta unidad los
estudiantes han observado y cuidado
de sus orugas. Estan escribiendo sus
observaciones en un diario. Ellos
verán el ciclo de vida mientras las
orugas se convierten en mariposas.
Estudios Sociales
Los estudiantes leerán
biografías para aprender acerca
de líderes Americanos,
innovadores, y héroes e
identificaran su importancia
para la historia Americana.
