POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Manager Information Technology Systems Manager Exempt CATEGORY: Professional GRADE: K (Technology Support) JOB SUMMARY: Manage the Information Technology Systems resources and day-to-day operational aspects of projects and its scope. Serve as a lead for projects through design, development and implementation of data and reporting systems. Create and execute project work plans and revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 30% 1. Provide vision and leadership for project planning, design, implementation and maintenance of systems applications, ad-hoc, production reporting systems, and other associated applications. Work with data users and providers to understand reporting requirements and source data systems. Assist with data quality issues and ensure program integrity. 2. Design and develop systems and specialized report-generated programs for the college; stay up to date on state and federal reporting requirements and ensure report credibility and accuracy. 25% 3. Coordinate data systems and reporting requirements with application Data Base Administration (DBA), as well as programmers and systems administrators. Communicate and coordinate issues with appropriate departments. 15% 4. Assist college with development and integration of systems technology into departmental operating processes. Identify and provide assistance with systems training and development needs to meet the goals and requirements of the college. 10% 5. Serve as liaison between departments, vendors and other agencies to establish and maintain working relationships and seek solutions to technology issues/problems. 10% 6. Develop, recommend and evaluate short and long range technology goals and objectives. Analyze and design departmental hardware requirements and ensure implementation of approved plans. 5% 7. Skills/Abilities: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written. Effective supervisory skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 2. Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with an office environment. 3. Software Used: Oracle based application programming and reporting software, Microsoft office software applications and presentation software.
