JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for developing and managing the working relationships of the Workplace
Literacy staff and managing the day-to-day operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manage on-going operations by planning and providing direction and supervision
to support staff within the Literacy Program’s office. Identify training needs of the
community and determine alternative modes of instructional delivery. Schedule
courses and manage student enrollment. Research, compile, prepare and submit
program reports.

2.
Provide personnel management direction and guidance to staff including
orientation, performance appraisal, professional development, coaching and
counseling. Participate in setting performance goals and priorities that contribute
to departmental mission. Communicate part-time faculty needs to the Director.

3.
Responsible for recruitment, intake and assessment of students in the programs.
Interpret student assessment scores. Ensure that adequate and appropriate learning
resources are developed to support all classes offered.

4.
Responsible for conducting presentations at local, state, and national conferences,
meeting with on and off-site representatives. Responsible for handling discipline
matters and student issues. Assume responsibilities of the Director during their
absence.

Monitor, recommend, and approve expenditures. Assist in the development of
departmental budgets and reports.

6.
Assist in the planning, writing, design and compliance of grants for additional
programming based on community needs, in accordance to EPCC’s goals and
objectives.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years related experience
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSURE: Certification on CASAS Assessment and BEST
Plus Test within one (1) year of hire.

Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software, e.g.
MSWord, Excel and Access, and integrated administrative information systems.
