POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Manager Manager, Tuition & Cashiering Services Exempt CATEGORY: Professional GRADE: D JOB SUMMARY: Manage and oversee the collection, receipt, disbursement, safeguarding, and deposit of all college funds. Reconcile collections to the bank and reports on revenues and disbursements; ensure that registration payments are processed and posted to appropriate accounts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 25% 1. Manage the district-wide collection of funds; to include tuition and fees, departmental deposits, and receipts related to third-party payments. 2. Reconciliation of various financial accounts and verification of daily cashier collections ensuring accurate posting and deposits. Review the daily bank statements to ensure that all collections are posted accurately to the bank and analyze bank statements for errors. Responsible for safeguarding all collections. 20% 3. Manage a large student database to extract reports and run related applications/processes to update and correct accounts. Knowledge of how various departments interrelate to troubleshoot and serve the customer effectively. Analyze, recommend, and implement new procedures to facilitate registration efficiency; assist with student account resolution and monitor payment plans. 15% 4. Interpret and advise staff and students regarding refund percentages, disbursement of financial aid and other refund checks by applying federal, state, and college policy and procedures. Advise students on their disbursement options; consult with Financial Aid, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable departments to ensure funds are distributed and applied appropriately to student accounts. 10% 5. Supervise and train staff to meet all operational deadlines. Serve as an information resource to district staff members on items related to student accounts. 10% 6. Coordinate and ensure that payment is made on all registered courses in accordance with state guidelines. Coordinate the process of student withdrawal for unpaid balances. 5% 7. Provide, monitor and document petty cash disbursements and reimbursements to employees and students. Record sales for various college events. 5% 8. Perform in-depth analyses for specialized reports regarding revenue collection and other reports as needed. 5% 9. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: None. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years related experience. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures. Effective oral and communication skills to include tact and diplomacy. Above average analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to meet multiple deadlines and multitask. Good understanding of large automated education cashiering and related computerized systems. Effectively handle stressful periods of peak activity. Conflict-resolving abilities. Software Used: A variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, e-mail, and software such as Banner, TouchNet, Argos, AppWorx and Microsoft Office.
