POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Manager EXTENDED TITLE: Project Manager, Career Services FLSA STATUS: Exempt CATEGORY: Professional GRADE: D JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for developing and managing effective working relationships between Career Services Department, comprise of job placement/development program, cooperative education program, transfer services and career planning services and partnerships with local, regional and nation-wide organizations and businesses in order to promote educational, employment and professional opportunities for students, alumni and community members. Responsible for providing administrative and management support for Career Services Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 1. Coordinate outreach projects with career services staff district-wide to insure compliance with college and departmental standardization of services. Monitor and evaluate program compliance and performance requirements and activities. 30% 2. Establish, coordinate and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with local, regional and nation-wide community entities, governmental agencies, Chambers of Commerce, school districts, community-based organizations, and businesses to promote employment and professional opportunities for students. Perform liaison activities with community and higher education institutions. 20% 3. Coordinate the planning, development, scheduling, and marketing of outreach and special projects that promote Career Services. 20% 4. Retrieve and compile data; prepare and submit reports and/or communications; assist in the research of new tools forms for appropriate use within the district. 15% 5. Serve as liaison and effectively communicate the objectives of the Career Services programs as it relates to staff, students, faculty, and community partners and higher education institutions. Develop, implement, revise and recommend new outreach projects for department growth. 10% 6.
