POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Manager Manager, Grants Management Exempt CATEGORY: Professional GRADE: E JOB SUMMARY: Identify external funding sources and coordinate the proposal planning, development, implementation, and administration of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements that will support and compliment the Mission of the College. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 30% 1. Develop funding applications/proposals for grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements; ensure content is of best quality and that highly competitive packages are completed and submitted in a timely manner with the proper approval and signatures. 2. Monitor all externally funded projects to ensure compliance with approved goals and schedules; adhere to approved budgets; develop and submit amendments to include extensions, renewals, and all deliverables including performance reports and close-outs. 20% 3. Develop and coordinate grants management strategies that address the needs of the College for external funding sources to support new and continuing programs and projects that are consistent with the College's overall mission and strategic plan but are not viable without funding from sources that may include federal, state, and local governments, corporations, or foundations. 10% 4. Use the internet, journals, and other sources; research, identify, and evaluate prospective external funding sources for which the College is eligible and meets the grants management strategic plan; issue availability alerts to appropriate College offices/staff; interpret program goals and administrative requirements for each prospective source as needed or requested. 10% 5. Perform extensive research to acquire and maintain information and data concerning demographics, various aspects of education, and socio-economic statistics needed to support critical needs or problem statements required as part of funding applications using such sources as the College data systems, U.S. Census, federal, state, and local government data bases and academic and professional publications. 10% 6. Provide technical expertise to individuals, small groups, and consultants concerning the grants process; serve as instructor for seminars, workshops, and structured classes. 10% 7. Compile and maintain College data regarding the status of applications, active agreements, and routine or special reports covering pending applications, awards, funding level sources, and close-outs. 5% 8.
