JOB SUMMARY: Operates and controls computer systems and supporting equipment/devices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Operate, monitor and maintain various multi-vendor software systems,
peripheral devices and data networks; initialize systems, as needed using
pre-established operating procedures; performs tape backup services.

2. Schedule, process and verify completion of batch reports; collate, burst
and distribute reports to clients.

3. Answer telephone, take messages, route calls and respond to client
questions/problems; may provide technical system advice and may
coordinate with external vendors for problem resolution.

4. Maintain and correct, as required, communication and front-end processor
equipment.

5. Maintain computer system tape library, including pulling, purging and
cleaning of tapes.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Associates degree or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Skills/Abilities: Attention to detail and problem solving.
2. Equipment Used: Personal computer and a variety of equipment associated with a
general office environment.
3. Software Used: A variety of word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties require little physical effort in work with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle
materials. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to
long periods of standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Alternative or combined skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people are
important in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing
behavior; and, skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to the point
of view of others.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with occasional
distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some
disagreeable elements.
