POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Testing Services Specialist Non-Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Classified D JOB SUMMARY: Assist with the daily management of site operations to include test administration activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 40% 1. Administer and monitor a wide variety of tests to include state, national, and institutional; maintain security of testing materials to prevent loss or compromise; verify eligibility to test and identity for testing applicants; troubleshoot basic equipment or software problems. 2. Process tests using computerized scanning and scoring equipment; maintain departmental testing files; prepare testing data for upload or entry into the management information system; retrieve data and compile statistical reports. 20% 3. Answer telephones, schedule appointments, greet clients, and provide information and materials; answer questions, operate various office and computer equipment, perform data processing tasks and maintain record databases; communicate and publicize testing information and schedules. 20% 4. Assist the testing coordinator in preparing testing and staff work schedule; provide work guidance and direction to less experienced testing staff in the absence of the area coordinator or during extended service hours; provide performance input to area coordinator, assist with problem resolution. 10% 5. Order, receive, inventory, and distribute testing materials and supplies; maintain computerized inventory databases and testing suspense files. 5% 6. Skills/Abilities: Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; ability to work in a team oriented environment; intermediate supervisory skills; strong computer skills and ability to troubleshoot basic problems encountered in a computerized testing environment. 2. Equipment Used: Personal Computer, fax, telephone, copier, and other equipment associated with an office environment. 3. Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation software.
