POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Director, Workforce Development Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Administrative C JOB SUMMARY: Plans, directs, develops, implements and evaluates adult vocational educational and non-credit programs and services for the Workforce Development Division. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. 2. 3. 4. Develop, implement, manage and evaluate adult vocational and non-credit education training and community outreach services; provide program direction and vision to faculty, staff and student; facilitate resolution of students, faculty or staff conflicts. Develop budget recommendations; manage approved budget; monitor equipment/inventories for multiple programs develop, manage and implement budget to ensure compliance with sponsoring agencies. Manage and write grants, and assist in the garnering of external funding to ensure sustainability of selfsupporting programs. Develop, recommend and implement short and long range strategic operational and instructional plans and related policies/procedures; ensure compliance with sponsoring agency, federal and state standards; implement approved programs; recommend modifications or changes as required. Establish and maintain relationships with business, community and educational institutions, advocacy groups and sponsoring local, state and federal agencies; participate in professional and community activities at the local, state and national levels; communicate and coordinate activities with campus-based and districtwide units. Develop and manage class schedules and development activities, including assigned on and off campus facilities (classroom, labs, faculty offices); orders textbooks and materials for students and faculty. 5% 6. (Copier, phone, fax, etc.) Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation software, e.g. Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, and PowerPoint.
