We’re on the Web! See us at: www.dublinschools. net/oldesawmill Your child brought home their book pocket today. Please read through the colored sheet for specific instructions on how you can best help your child practice their books each night. By next Friday, please sign the white sheet next to the title and date of each book indicating that they did, in fact, practice daily or nightly, and return the book pocket to school. Just as with the library books, please have them keep these in their backpacks when they aren’t reading them so they always have them at school when they need them and they don’t get damaged or lost. We discussed that memorizing the book or ‘reading with your eyes closed’ is not really reading so we need to point under each word as we read. Library books are typically read to kindergartners by parents but book pocket books are to read by kindergartners to parents. It’s so exciting to watch our young readers bloom!
