College of Arts and Sciences Committee on Academic Programs (ASCAP) Minutes for Meeting of December 8, 2014 A meeting of ASCAP was held on Monday, December 8 at 3:00 p.m. in Holden Hall 129. Committee members present were: Gretchen Adams, Kelly Cukrowicz, Brett Houk, Matt Olson, Jacob Mota, and David Roach. Presenters: Dr. Lumpkin (Health, Exercise, & Sport Sciences), Drs. Patterson and Barkdull (Political Science), Drs. Cohen and Van Allen (Psychological Sciences), and Drs. Collopy, Pascual y Cabo, and Tecedor (Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures). 1. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend approval for the following proposals from the Department of Health, Exercise, & Sport Sciences: Delete ESS 4366, Motor Control. Delete HLTH 4312, Psychosocial Health. Add HLTH 4398, Health Seminar. Add PFW 1199, Practicum in Athletic Training. 2. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend approval for the following proposal from the Department of Political Science: Change POLS 3410 Political Analysis. 3. The committee voted to recommend approval for the following proposal from the Department of Psychological Sciences: Add PSY 3390 Introduction to Positive Psychology. 4. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend approval for the following proposals from the Department of Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures: Add SPAN 5383 Spanish in Contact with Other Languages. Add SPAN 5384 Acquisition and Development of Skills in Spanish as a Second Language. The next scheduled meeting of ASCAP is set for 3:00 Monday, January 26, 2015. Proposals for this meeting need to reach the Dean’s office by Monday, January 19, 2015.
