T HE F IFTH S UNDAY OF L ENT – M A R C H 25, 2012 THE READINGS FOR PALM SUNDAY OF THE LORD’S PASSION ARE: MK. 11: 1-10 IS. 50: 1-7 MK. 14: 15:47 THE EXAMEN During this Lenten season, there will be an Examination of Consciousness following Communion. The “Examen” is at the heart of Ignatian prayer and we hope that this Spiritual Exercise during Lent will enrich your prayer and reflection. The Examen questions for the Fifth Sunday of Lent are listed below. In the tradition of Ignatius, we open our hearts and minds to God’s loving guidance through the spirit of Jesus Christ. Together let us reflect on our day with God as our guide and Jesus walking beside us. THE FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT Lord, we realize that everything, even ourselves, is a gift from you. How have you shared in the gift of God’s forgiveness? Lord, open our eyes and ears to be more honest with ourselves. How is God creating a clean heart in you? Lord, show us what has been happening to us and in us this day. How is Jesus lifting you up and drawing you to himself today? Lord, we are still learning to grow in your love. When has self-centeredness kept you from living in God’s love? Lord, let us look with longing toward the future. How can you love and serve the Lord and others this Lent? LENTEN TAIZE EVENING PRAYER We are celebrating Taize Prayer this Monday evening, March 26th. This candlelit Evening Prayer Liturgy features simple singing, prayer and meditation. Please join at 7:15 pm in the Upper Church. ARCHDIOCESAN ANNUAL APPEAL As Christians, we have the call to reflect the love of Christ in our own lives.
