What an extraordinarily beautiful Christmas season it has been at St. Ignatius! The liturgies, the music, the decor of the church, the Christmas gift drives - all have contributed to making Christmas at St. Ignatius more than memorable. But now we are in "ordinary time" in our liturgical calendar. To tell the truth, there is rarely an "ordinary" time in our parish. There is always something going on that can engage our faith more deeply. In every area of our parish life: liturgy, spirituality, faith formation, outreach, we have opportunities to "increase our faith". I hope you will avail yourself of some of these ways to engage in the life of our parish community. Next week, our parish mission group will be heading to our sister parish, St. Anne's in Kingston, Jamaica. We are a group of twelve who will share our gifts and experiences with parishioners at St. Anne's and receive the gifts of the faith and their joy in return. Please hold us in prayer while we are away. Speaking of prayers, it's not too early to sign up for the parish Lenten retreat at Eastern Point, March 23rd -25th . We also will be offering our series "Foundations of Ignatian Prayer" on Sunday afternoons beginning in mid-February. This is an opportunity to experience forms of prayer that are used in St. Ignatius' Spiritual Exercises. It also gives you a chance to see if you would be interested in making the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life beginning in the autumn of 2012. I hope and pray that this new year, 2012, will be one filled with rich experiences of God's love and grace in your life. "May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the Companionship of the Holy Spirit be always with you!" In Christ, Fr. Bob 1.
