“MOVED TO GREATER LOVE” PROGRAM OF PRAYER
Have you been participating in the Moved to Greater Love program of prayer this Lenten/Easter season?
Join us on Sunday, May 4th, the concluding day of the retreat, for a communal gathering and spiritual
conversation. All are invited to attend either at 11:00am or 6:30 pm in the Friary Room.
BOOK DISCUSSION
On Sunday, May 18th at 11:15 am in the parish office, there will be a discussion of the book Help, Thanks,
Wow: The Three Essential Prayers by Anne Lamott. According to Booklist, Help, Thanks, Wow is
inspiriting, trenchant and funny. “Lamott takes an imaginative do-it-yourself approach to spirituality in
her disarming and stirring essays. Unabashedly emotional yet practical and sharply attuned to the
absurdities and tragedies of life, she focuses on prayer in this mighty little volume, defining it
as ‘communication from the heart to that which surpasses understanding.’ “
CANCER SUPPORT GROUP – OUR LADY HELP OF CHRISTIANS CHURCH
The next Faith-Based Cancer Support Group will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 5 at Our Lady Help
of Christians Church in Newton. Formed through the collaboration of Sacred Heart and Our Lady’s, the
group meets the first Monday of each month to provide spiritual, emotional and compassionate support
for all those affected by cancer. Following a celebration of the Mass and the Anointing of the Sick (in the
church), Fr. John Sassani, Pastor, will then share his thoughts on “Finding God in Every Day Living”. Refreshments will
also be served. The church is at 573 Washington Street, Newton, and parking is available in the lot off
Adams Street. Enter through the rectory side of the church as it is handicapped-accessible. For questions
or more information, please contact Arlene Larsen: 781-899-0213 or aflarsen48@gmail.com or Lorraine
Higgins: 617-244-0267 orhiglor1@msn.com, or the parish offices. All are welcome!

Queridos Parroquianos,
Espíritu Santo me conmovió mucho.
Vanessa Alvarado, Vilma Herrera, Natalia Ortega, Claudia Perez,
Femaris Verdaguer
Padre Bob
