Dear Friends,
On behalf of the entire Nativity Preparatory School community, please accept our heartfelt
gratitude for the outstanding role that the parishioners of St. Ignatius played in making the 2013
Nativity Spirit Dinner such a tremendous success. Your participation helped to make for an
unforgettable evening with record setting attendance. We were thrilled to present Fr. Bob
VerEecke, S.J. and the parishioners of St. Ignatius with the Raymond J. Callahan Service Award.
Thank you for the numerous ways you serve our students with your time, talent, and treasure.
If you have not been to Nativity Prep, please consider coming by for a visit so you can see our
mission in action and allow the boys to thank you in person for your generosity. Our doors are
open anytime you would like to visit, or join us for one of our upcoming Nativity Visitor
Breakfasts on May 7th , or May 14th or May 21st. For more information or to RSVP to a breakfast,
please contact Brooke O’Donnell at bodonnell@nativityboston.org or 857-728-0031x21.
Thanks for all your Nativity Spirit and your service to the greater Boston community!
Gratefully,
Rev. John Wronski, SJ, President
HUNGRY FOR MORE CHURCH MUSIC
The St. Ignatius Choir will sing their re-scheduled “U-Tunes” Concert on Sunday, April 21st at 2:30 pm. Come hear
the choir sing selections by Mozart, Bach, and much more, including a reprise of the Hallelujah Chorus! A
donation at the door will benefit the St. Anne's Park Fund. All are welcome.
BOOK DISCUSSION
On April 21 at 11:15 in the Parish Office, all are welcome to participate in a discussion of the book
House of Prayer No. 2: A Writer's Journey Home by Mark Richard. According to the New York
Times Book Review, Richard has penned “an absorbing account of growing up in the 1960’s South,
living with a disability, becoming a writer and finding faith. Richard’s book attests to the power of
words (and the Word) in shaping a life. . . . Richard is a fiercely gifted writer. . . . [His] special childhood results in
considerable powers of observation, empathy and imagination.”

TRUTH AND JUSTICE FOR EL SALVADOR'S DISAPPEARED
The Salvadoran Civil War claimed the lives of thousands of innocent children, women, and men. Many of
these civilians were kidnapped, tortured, and murdered without any official recognition or record, today
they are referred to as the “Disappeared”.
To this day, tens of thousands of family members of the Disappeared still do not know what happened to
their sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters.
SHARE invites you to meet Marina Ortiz and Patricia Garcia of the Pro-Historical Memory
Commission and Bethany Loberg of SHARE at St. Ignatius Upper Church on April 24 at 6:30
pm. Marina was disappeared as a child and Patricia was disappeared and tortured twice during the civil
war. Both have family members who were disappeared and have worked for truth and justice since their
adolescence.

Queridos
Parroquianos,
Este
domingo
pasado
tuvimos
una
reunión
de
nuestro
Consejo
Hispano.
Cada
mes
tenemos
la
oportunidad
de
compartir
nuestras
opiniones
sobre
lo
que
está
ocurriendo
en
nuestra
comunidad
Latina
y
como
mejorar
nuestra
vida
comunitaria.
En
los
Hechos
de
los
Apóstoles
durante
la
temporada
de
Pascua
escuchamos
como
los
miembros
de
la
primera
comunidad
Cristiana
se
dedicaron
uno
a
otro.
La
multitud
de
los
que
habían
creído
era
de
un
corazón
y
un
alma;
y
ninguno
decía
ser
suyo
propio
nada
de
lo
que
poseía,
sino
que
tenían
todas
las
cosas
en
común.
Y
con
gran
poder
los
apóstoles
daban
testimonio
de
la
resurrección
del
Señor
Jesús,
y
abundante
gracia
era
sobre
todos
ellos.
Les
invito
a
pensar
en
las
maneras
por
las
cuales
puedan
contribuir
más
a
la
animación
de
nuestra
comunidad.
Como
saben,
buscamos
a
personas
que
pueden
servir
como
ministros
de
la
Palabra,
ministros
de
la
comunión,
y
ministros
de
la
hospitalidad.
Si
tienen
ganas
de
ser
voluntario
y
quisieran
recibir
mas
información,
por
favor
comuníquense
con
unos
de
los
coordinadores
de
la
liturgia.
Espero
que
el
Espíritu
Santo
los
anime
para
que
den
testimonio
a
su
fe
en
el
nombre
de
Jesucristo,
nuestro
Salvador.
Sinceramente,
Padre
Bob
