The Archdiocese of Boston has been blessed with many schools, hospitals and social service agencies. The common denominator in the history of these institutions is the dedicated service of Sisters who gave themselves untiringly to the service of the Church. Through this collection, the Archdiocese will remember those Sisters who have served so faithfully and are now retired. This is “A Moment of Thanks for a Lifetime of Service.” PRAYING WITH IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA If you would like to deepen your experience of prayer, learning more about the ways of praying that are at the heart of the Spirituality of Ignatius of Loyola and his Spiritual Exercises, we invite you to participate in "Praying with Ignatius" which began on Sunday, November 1st. This program, led by young Jesuits from the School of Theology and Ministry, will engage you in the ways of Ignatian prayer and give you some foundation in the Spiritual Exercises may also lead to your participation in making the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life which will be offered in the parish beginning in the Autumn of 2010. "Praying with Ignatius" which began on November 1st, will be offered on alternate Sundays through midDecember and again from mid-January through the Easter season. Meeting times are from 4:00-5:15 PM so that people can participate in the 5:30 Liturgy if they choose. The Enneagram is an ancient method of personality typing which has been used for centuries to increase self-knowledge. Because the Enneagram is basically an oral tradition, it is best learned in workshops. Gail O’Donnell, RSCJ, has been giving Enneagram workshops since 1980 and will be the presenter of a workshop to be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 9:30-4:30 pm in the Friary Room. The cost is $30.00. Please bring your own lunch (or you can go across the street to a sandwich shop). Coffee, drinks and snacks will be provided. During the workshop, presentations will be given on each of the nine personality types in the Enneagram and reflection questions will be offered to help each participant identify his or her "number.” An appreciation for why we act the way we do, as well as why others act differently, can serve to facilitate reconciliation within ourselves, our relationships and the communities in which we live. CONFIRMATION Our Confirmation program begins in the 9th grade. Students are confirmed in the Spring of the 10th grade. Young adults who have been catechized but are not yet confirmed should contact the rectory for an alternative program.
