From the Pastor
Happy New Year in Jesus!
As we begin a new year of ministry together, we
have several things to look forward to. First of all,
January 18th will be Bruce and Sharon Wilson’s first
Sunday. Bruce accepted the call to be our Minister
of Music. Bruce is a committed disciple of Jesus
Christ and is eager to lead our choir and music
ministry. Please be in prayer for him and Sharon as
they transition into the family of God at Mt. Sinai.
Second, we’re looking into a special lay
renewal weekend in April. Our association is doing
a simulcast lay renewal weekend designed to bring
spiritual awakening and revival among members. A
trained lay-led team is coming to lead the weekend at
no cost. The testimonies of the two pilot churches
were very encouraging and inspiring to say the least.
Third, I feel very fortunate to have the
opportunity to mentor Kevin Osborne as he works
toward his Master of Divinity through Gordon
Cornwell Seminary. Kevin is taking classes through
the seminary’s extension campus in Charlotte. His
degree requires him to do ministry rotations. Thus, I
will be meeting regularly with Kevin and provide
him with on the job training and opportunities to
minister with me at Mt. Sinai.
I hope you too are looking forward to new
opportunities to grow and serve Jesus in 2009. Our
Lord’s work is ongoing despite the state of the
economy. The gospel is a message unlike any other
and we must work together to get it out. I anticipate
a great year as we seek first the Kingdom of God and
keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ our Lord!

with God. This will be each Wednesday evening
through Feb. 4th.
