From the Pastor
“How can we thank God enough for you
in return for all the joy we have in the presence of
our God because of you?” I Thessalonians 3:9
I shared this verse with our Sunday school
teachers, church council members, deacons and
staff. The church is made up of individuals who
sacrifice and serve to fulfill God’s agenda. Each
member has a significant role to play in building
God’s Kingdom.
For example, we just completed one of the
biggest Vacation Bible Schools we have had in
years. The work load was huge, but the number of
workers helped make it manageable. The children
learned timeless principles about God’s love,
holiness and faithfulness. They learned about
Jesus’ sacrifice, compassion and forgiveness. They
learned about the curse of sin, the cost of sin, and
the cure of sin.
Every single VBS helper, teacher, cook,
cleaner and server was instrumental in sowing the
gospel and God’s Word into the soil of every child.
Several children took steps toward a public
confession of Jesus as their Savior. Other seeds of
truth will be cultivated and nurtured by parents,
grandparents, great-grandparents, Sunday school
teachers, fellow church members and staff. How
wonderful to see God at work bringing children
unto himself. Salvation is a miracle. Salvation is
amazing.
Let us not forget our main business as a
church is to share the gospel, and live the gospel!
People are looking and searching for help, hope,
and healing. God has put the church in the world
to help people, to provide hope, and to bring
healing through Jesus.
Thank you VBS workers! Thank you for
serving our Lord and sharing the greatest news
ever. As Paul said in I Thessalonians, “How can
we thank God enough for you?” Yes the nights
were long, the temperature hot, the kids wild, the
schedule trying, the patience thin, the numbers
huge, but the gospel is worth it all!
So dear member of Mt. Sinai. In what
capacity are you involved in ministry? How are
you serving the Lord in the local church? God has
given you everything you need to glorify Him and
serve others. Don’t miss the wonder and extreme
joy of being used by God. He will gladly use you
to build His Kingdom and fulfill His purposes.
Take a moment right now. Stop and ask
God to show you where He’s working around you.
Be attentive – be available and abide in Christ and
your days will be exciting and your eternity
rewarding to all of you laboring in the Lord and to
those of you ready to start. Let me say it again
from the depths of my heart, how can we thank
God enough for you!

YOUTH NEWS…
“Are we keepers of the aquarium or are we fishers of men?”
Jesus tells His followers that they would be fishers of men, if they chose to follow Him.
Matthew records the words of Jesus as saying to His followers, “Go and make disciples of all
the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Again
in Acts just before Jesus ascends into heaven He tells His followers that they would be His
witnesses telling people about Himself everywhere.
All through the book of Acts we see the followers of Jesus preaching and teaching in His
name, leaving their homes to share the good news of Jesus Christ. We too have the job of
telling others, everyone everywhere about Jesus. Jesus brings new life to all who truly trust
Him and follow Him. Nowhere in God’s Word are we told to stay in the aquarium, but rather
to be out fishing for men for the sake of the kingdom.
That is exactly what the Wisconsin Mission trip was all about; telling others about Jesus! I
hope that you will come out on August 14 to hear about what God is doing in Wisconsin. Our
team saw some awesome things done by God and we want to share with you.
Our prayer is that you are true followers of Christ and are fishers of men for the kingdom!
