Graduate Product Support Engineer

Are you looking for a Technical role within the
Engineering sector? We are looking for an
Engineering graduate to join our Engineering
department in Siemens Traffic Solutions, a part of the
Mobility division, as a Graduate Product Support
Engineer. Mobility is supplying answers to the questions
of our time: How will cities solve the problems of
increasing traffic? How can railway operators increase
throughput, punctuality, and security of their systems?
In short, what solutions are available to avoid the
looming threat of total gridlock? All the mobility-related
products, solutions, and services from Siemens are
bundled in the Mobility Division.
This two year programme is designed to develop
excellent Engineers and will give you the opportunity to
experience different areas of the Traffic Solutions
business. You will be given project responsibility from an
early stage and develop skills in a range of traffic
products and services. You will be mentored throughout
the programme and training will be tailored to your
development needs. At the end of the two years, it is
expected that you will progress into the role of Product
Support Engineer.
What are my responsibilities?
 You will work alongside the Product Development
teams to assist in the development, test and
deployment of new products and services.
 This role is responsible for ensuring that the company
and its employee’s safety are not compromised. This
covers the development and implementation of
processes, technology and tools to enhance safety
and working conditions within the service team.
 You will deliver technical support to our team of over
300 field service engineers covering a diverse product
range including traffic controllers, VMS signs, ANPR
cameras, road sensors, and Electric Vehicle
Chargers, as well as IP networking and instation
infrastructure.
 You will understand basic project management skills
to deliver small customer projects to time, budget, and
quality drivers.
 You will develop a good understanding of the
regulations relevant to health and safety at work,
working with electricity, excavations in the highway,
etc.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
 You must be expecting or have achieved a 2:2 or
above in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
or Maths) discipline
 You must be keen to pursue a career in a Technical
role (rather than a management career)
 Much of your work will be with clients or other
members
of
the
Engineering
and
Project
Management team and therefore strong interpersonal skills is a must
 The ability to work autonomously and logically to
solve complex problems
 You must be able to balance priorities with guidance
and have a flexible approach to work
What else do I need to know?
Although this role is based in Poole, you may be required to
travel throughout the programme, so you must be
geographically flexible. Also, you will take part in the
Siemens Graduate Development Programme (GDP),
covering the personal skills you will need at this stage in your
